The word electronica always conjures up images of guys messing around on their computer, mashing sounds together hopefully to create some sort of listenable noise. Yes, they should be out doing something far more entertaining than getting all touchy feely with their keyboard and sound equipment on a Friday night. However, this Duo from Moscow really now how to make electonica work for them.

Mostly ambient tracks, it does manage to bring in some very tasteful jazz parts, to spice it up a bit with the introduction of horns. Mostly though it is a swell of moving sounds that gracefully bounce off each other. This album glides on with very few vocals and relies on the music to tell the story. The beeps and bops brought together not by a mere computer enthusiast but by musicians who prove they’ve been doing it long enough to know the right recipe.

This is nothing groundbreaking but it does make for a pleasant change from the radio accepted tunes we so often hum, even though we may dislike the song. These aren’t walk down the street with a tune in your head kind of songs but they do make the listener ponder for a moment and step back from the MTV world we know and love.

Imagine yourself sitting in the chillout area of a trendy club, no doubt this would be among the collection that the DJ would be spinning. Now all you have to do is kick back and relax.
