Roninbeat - dance electronic project from Saint-Petersburg. It was formed by Alex Ronin and Ilya Dmitriev when they have met in Fishfabrique night club (Pushkinskaya-10 Art Center) in April 2001.

 

 Alex has already have a band called No Name that existed for more than a year. One of its songs - "Hendrikaqua" was released on "Griboedovmusic" CD Compilation  music compilation of popular St.-Petersburg  underground club Griboedov.

Since its formation, Roninbeat has become popular, mostly thanks to its participation in various fests, club parties and concerts in differant Russian cities and abroad.

 

On June 28 of 2002 Roninbeat participated in Armyrock festival in Hameenlinna, Finland as a “Special Guest. 

 

In the end of May and the beginning of June 2003 Alex Ronin and Ilya Dmitriev were touring in Germany with their ethno-dub-ambient project Local Spirit. The project was nominated in "Golden Youth of St.-Petersburg" category at Entuziazmus - Russian-German festival dedicated to 300-year Anniversary of St.-Petersburg. They performed in Taheles Cultural Center of Berlin, Hamburg, Kiel and Drezden.

In February 2004 Roninbeat has released their debut album Cutoff Style, which was recorded at Krugozor record label (St.-Petersburg) by themselves. It is a mix of deep, electro and techno sounding, powerful material gladly embraced in modern night clubs of St.-Petersburg.

 

In May 2004 Roninbeat participated in annual rave festivals MAYDAY and Vostochny Udar (Orient Beat) along with such musicians as Pol van Dyke, Takkuy Ishino, Low Spirit , DJ Kompas-Vrubel, DJ Cosinus and DJ Groove.

 

Roninbeat succeed mostly because they  live electronic music performers  are perceived seriously in dance clubs and restaurants, as well as at different festivals and big parties. Roninbeat create specific and recognizable sounding and already have fans not only in Russia, but in the other territories.

 

Every performance is unique and full of surprises, there is always a real time improvisation element. Sounding of Roninbeat is multy-style: it is may be techno-house or deep, or maybe easy jazz-latino-funk, but the preferable direction in sound aesthetic is house.
